The most popular season to visit Japan is spring. It truly is a magical time of the year. The cherry blossom trees, long quiet and dormant over the winter, burst into explosions of pink flowers. When you see them in person you can really understand the great fascination and excitement that so many have in this season.

Spring is great as we all come out of hibernation. Renewed feeling and energy and motivation — all things that incentive travel focuses on. We want our teammates at work to feel a surge of life, and then to also connect that feeling with their workmates and friends in their company.

The downside to a spring incentive trip is cost… and hotels are priced to capitalize on the huge tourist markets that come to Japan at this time of year. We can mitigate some of that by blocking out hotels earlier. Our partners have marvelous relationships with many hotels – of all ranges so that is very helpful.

If you are planning for a spring incentive trip, earlier is always better than later. Contact us as soon as you can should your client be considering this time of year.

The second greatest season of Japan is autumn, but here we have more flexibility. While spring time can be tricky for timing a visit to flowers blooming (sometimes they don’t bloom on our schedule!), autumn is a wonderful time of year that is longer, deeper, cooler, and has many great benefits as well.

First there is the autumn colors. The Japanese mountains are covered with a wide variety of trees -cypress, cedar, Japanese maple, and Ginko trees, bring out yellow, orange, and red. All spectacular.

And then there is the food – autumn is the season of harvest. From new rice – and sake, to seafood and fish, and wonderful fruit and vegetables. You will dine as queens and kings. An incentive group exploring nature, along with iconic fun in the big cities, and then having time at a table of Japanese cuisine-treasures will surely bond them together in fun and laughter and discovery.

Let us know when you would like to come. We love both of these seasons and so do our clients. And lastly, we do have space on the “shoulder seasons” as well. The benefits of reduced hotel expenses and thinner crowds are also attractive things to consider as well.

And in truth, Japan is marvelous in just about any season – except typhoon season…. let’s keep you home for just that one.
