As I am developing this site more and more I feel I should share with you projects that we have worked on so that you get a better sense of the reach and dexterity we have in designing and executing your incentive travel program.
One of the most rewarding projects we have developed is a Samurai Experience Tour in the city of Nikko – which is just a couple hours north of Japan.
If you are not familiar with Nikko – it is the stronghold of the Shogun, and the place where civil war was brought to an end and a new era of peace and culture and art was brought to Japanese society. As a historical place, Nikko is very important, but also as a marvel of architecture it is something that is just “off the charts”.
We designed a “Shogun Story” program in Nikko where participants come to Tokyo, stay a day or two and then ride the super-cool modern SPACIA X train to Nikko. The train itself is hyper-modern, but also has shapes and stylings that are connected to the ancient architecture of temples and shrines in Nikko.
Upon arrival in Nikko our people settle into either the Kanaya Hotel (where Einstein and Helen Keller once stayed) or the super zen Ritz-Carlton, which is quite new and very chic. The two day experience brings our clients to samurai etiquette classes, some kyudo-archery experiences, and also some time in nature to enjoy the cypress trees, the waterfalls, and ancient bridges here as well. Nikko has much history and folklore so there are so many stories to experience and delight in as well.
Nikko is extremely ideal for groups that want a cultural escape from Tokyo for a day or two, for seminars in team building and corporate-culture making as well.
Let us know if something along these lines is a program you would like for your company or clients. We have arranged this experience several times since inception and it has become a very interesting and creative addition to incentive programs as well.
